Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of nutrition topics are covered in a consultation?

I provide services that focus on nutrition related to people who are receiving or have received oncology therapy. If you are seeking help with other nutrition issues, I will be happy to refer you to an appropriate resource.

What information do I need to obtain for a consultation?

It is helpful for me to receive a summary of your medical history, a current cancer treatment plan, current medications, recent bloodwork, and current height and weight, weight history over the past year.

It is the responsibility of the client to obtain and share as much of their medical record they are able to provide.  This information can be shared through the HIPAA compliant Healthie website.

Should I let my healthcare team know about the nutrition consultation?

Yes, it is the responsibility of the client to discuss any recommendations provided through our nutrition consultation visit with their medical / healthcare team prior to implementing any suggestions.

In what States do you provide services?

I am licensed in the following states: North Carolina, Texas, Florida and Idaho.

Services may be available in states that offer reciprocity of license, and in states that do not require Dietitian/ Nutritionist licensure. Coaching and education may be available in states that do not recognize reciprocity for telehealth/virtual visits.  I reserve the right to refer you to appropriate services, depending on what kind of nutrition care you may need.

I do not provide nutrition consultation for those who reside outside the United States of America.

Do you take insurance for the nutrition services?

I do not take insurance for nutrition services, as most insurance carriers do not provide reimbursement for oncology nutrition care. I can provide you with information that you may need to submit to your own insurance, upon request.

To avoid potential conflict of interest: I will not provide services to clients who receive care at Florida Cancer Specialists or at American Oncology Network facilities.
